H Evason Aggregates Ltd, formerly known as H Evason & Co. is a long-established family run business with almost 100 years’ experience in the construction, aggregate and recycling industries.

The aim of H Evason & Co is to produce a viable alternative to quarried aggregates. With the ever-increasing demand for resources, recycling is a vital tool in the reduction of the construction industries carbon footprint. Recovering, Recycling and Reusing are the cornerstone of H Evason & Co core values. With the use of our state-of-the-art wash plant, we are able to lead the way in the production of truly sustainable aggregates.

The Evason name can be traced back to the area of the late 19th century when they operated as coal merchants in the Leebotwood, Shropshire. In 1927, Harry Evason moved the family into sand and aggregate production when he started extracting sand and gravel.

Harry died in 1941 and the company passed to his son Vincent Evason. Vincent, following in his father’s footsteps, ran the sand and gravel quarry after the war and modernised the process by purchasing newly available equipment such as mechanised excavators, loaders and in the 1960’s was one of the first companies to supply ready mixed concrete in Shropshire. Taking a keen interest in politics for many years, Vincent served as the Mayor of Shrewsbury between 1989-1990. He continued to work in the business until he passed away in 2013.

In 1972 Charles Evason joined the business alongside his father. In the late 90’s with the sand and gravel becoming exhausted, Charles took the business in a new direction and gained planning permission to operate an inert landfill on the site. It now operates as one of the only licenced inert landfills in the area.

In 2003, Mark Evason joined the industry and under the guidance of his father around 2011, began looking to the newly forming recycling industry. Starting out with just dry screening H Evason & Co was able to reduce the level of material going to landfill while supplying a valuable resource back into the construction sector.

In 2022, H Evason & Co purchased and installed a state-of-the-art Terex wash plant, supplied by PowerX. This latest stage in the company’s long journey will vastly reduce the amount of materials going to landfill and will enable H Evason & Co to offer class leading industry compliant alternatives to a range of aggregates fulfilling the company’s desire to reduce the carbon footprint of the construction industry and reduce waste to the bare minimum.
